AeroHangar exists because finding good free aviation software means digging through abandoned repositories, renamed forks and dead download mirrors.
What we list
Open-source projects related to aircraft and flight: simulators, flight-dynamics engines, ADS-B and Mode-S decoders, flight-tracking front ends, UAV autopilots and ground stations, design and aerodynamics toolchains, and 3D models or scenery tooling.
How projects are chosen
- Discovered through GitHub keyword searches for aircraft, aviation, flight simulation, ADS-B, UAV and related terms.
- Scored for relevance to aviation — projects where the keyword is incidental are dropped.
- Filtered for activity and traction: archived repositories, empty descriptions and abandoned code are excluded.
- Grouped into six categories so you can browse by what you actually want to do.
What we do not do
- We do not rehost installers, repackage binaries or bundle anything ourselves.
- We do not take payment for placement, and there are no sponsored listings.
- We do not claim affiliation with any project or its authors.
Corrections
